On Death in Fall
I walk these streets I've walked before
Widowed leaves of red and orange embrace the ground
The rays of sun reflect golden off of
The puddles left from the heavy rains of yesterday
It is in this radiance I see your face
And in the howling wind I hear your voice
Yes, it is fall, the beginning of death
The death I liken with you
To the falling apart of you and I
All those years ago
All that way away
In another fall, under another sun
Or at least that's what I tell myself
