A Childhood Memoir
Silence the sound of a friendship gone dry,
I've forgotten what it's like to hear your voice
Speaking to me in trust and love.
And I've forgotten what it's like to see you smile
and know everything was okay.
So I sit here missing you again
Wanting back what's gone away
Wanting to hold your hand in mine
and know we'd be together again
Coldness the feeling of a friendship lost,
Can't quite remember what it was like to know you listened
to everything I had to say.
And I can't quite remember what it was like to know you cared
enough that you wouldn't walk away.
So I sit here missing you again
Wanting back what's gone away
Wanting to hold your hand in mine
and know we'd be together again
So now I'm left here wondering who's to blame
for everything we had gone away
And now I'm left thinking in the past
trying to remember where we went wrong
And I sit here missing you again
wanting back what's gone away
To hold your hand in mine
and know we'd be together for one last time
